Decibel 2008 - 3CD
The Beholder & Zany, Paul Elstak & Sven Wittekind
|
|
Out of the gates of Beekse Bergen comes the official Decibel 2008 3CD compilation. This year Hardstyle, Hardcore and Hardtechno were chosen to embody the mighty sound of the Decibel festival. Compiled and mixed by a total of 4 men who each on their own (and together) represent the cream of the crop of their genres.
Hardstyle heavyweights Zany & The Beholder teamed up and signed on for the first disc. As you can expect from these industry dominators this juicy mixed CD will suit every hardstyle fanatic out there. Containing loads of new material by top artists the likes of DJ Isaac, Max Enforcer and Zero Vision, mixed with a selection of current hardstyle floor fillers. Off course Zany & The Beholder can also be found on the CD with their smash hit “Euphoria” and the superb hardstyle remix of the hardcore classic “Arise” by Bulldozer Project. The official Decibel 2008 anthem “Bleeding for the harder styles” also produced by Zany & The Beholder ends the first disc in true Decibel style.
Disc 2 features “the godfather” Paul Elstak bringing with him a superb mix of hardcore hits like “Come as one” by G-Town Madness & The Viper, “Let’s get it on” by Art of Fighters & Endymion, Paul’s recently released mash-up “Offensive Trilla” and Tommyknocker’s brand new remix of the Endymion’s all-time hardcore bomb “Payback”. All fluidly mixed with classic floor fillers like “Locked Down”, the"Antimix’’ by The Masochist and “Zombie”. Paul perfectly combines the old with the new and blends it all into a unique and hard hitting mix.
With hardtechno taking its place as a more and more prominent style on Dutch festivals, Decibel found main player Sven Wittekind and allowed him to take us into the world of hard hitting techno on the third disc. Sven himself is represented with some of his own magnificent work ( "Mamoru" / "I Stay Hard"), and combines this with ear piercing tracks of artists like Spark Taberner, Space DJz and Robert Natus! Once you press play this sound on this disc rages forward like an uncontrollable train that doesn’t stop until the very last moment. Intense !!
All together a must have release for all who visited Decibel 2008 and everyone who likes the harder styles of dance music !

1992is4you! - 2CD
Mixed by Stanton
|
|
Dig very deep into your memory and try to link the following three things to each other. Snap's "Rhythm Is a Dancer", Denmark becoming European soccer champion and a booming period for the famous club Parkzicht. Indeed, we are talking about 1992! A turbulent year for the flourishing “house music” which was taking the Netherlands by storm.
Named after the very successful “1992is4you” events organized by b2s, comes a raving 2CD compilation mixed and compiled by Stanton, the one and only true oldschool master. What makes this release really stand out from all the other countless oldschool CD’s that have gone before it, is its tracklist. This is no common smash hit overview, this is oldschool at its very best. Stanton dug very deep into his record collection to pick out all those long forgotten but utterly brilliant classics.
Sublime CD for everyone who wants to hear more than just “Pullover”, 88 to piano and “The ultimate seduction”.

Hardcore4life - 2CD
Mixed by Nosferatu & Meccano Twins
|
|
“Hardcore 4 life”, a motto many hardcore lovers use to express their dedication to their favorite genre... It’s also the title of the highly successful party concept by B2S, held since 2001.... And it serves as the perfect name for a CD-compilation that brings you nothing but the best new, raw and energetic hardcore tracks, mixed and compiled by elite international hardcore artists.
For this new edition, heavyweights Nosferatu and the Meccano Twins are up for the job of delivering a devastating piece of sound-sculpting to you. Nosferatu fills disc one of this two-CD-set with a wide range of quality mainstream, such as Mad Dog’s “Nasty”, DJ Neophyte & Tha Playah’s “ Still nr. 1” and Tommyknocker’s trashed remix of “Payback”, but also blends in some of the tougher stuff like Day-Mar with “No Prada” and Noisekick with “ Hij loopt rondjes”.
If this carnage has you longing for more, Italian-based Meccano Twins are happy to deliver on disc two... Even though “happy” is not really the best description to use for their 20-track-assault on your sound system; Meccano Twins delve deep into the darker side of hardcore and test your endurance with industrial-influenced tracks as “The rosy-lipped batfish” by Enzyme X, “8 bit racket” by Broken Rules and their own “Tendrils of agony”, but also serve up some straight, but highly powerful tracks like “Enemy” by Na-Goyah, Tha Playah remix of The Headbanger’s “In your head” and “Strangle and mutilate” by Angerfist.
Both Nosferatu and Meccano Twins provide you with the best in current hardcore and serve it up in two flawless mixes, with a total of 35 hardcore killers. If you consider yourself “Hardcore 4 life”, be sure to not miss out on this one!!!!

15 Years of Nightmare
06-12-08. Ahoy Rotterdam
|
|
15th ANNIVERSARY OF NIGHTMARE WILL BE BIGGER THAN EVER!
On Saturday, 14 August 1993, we laid the foundations for one of the most indestructible concepts in the hardcore scene: Nightmare! During the first edition of Nightmare in the Energiehal, the world became acquainted with the unique sound that would later prove to be so influential in the history of hardcore.
Much has changed over the past fifteen years. The Energiehal no longer exists and the scene has matured, but both Hardcore and Nightmare are bigger than ever. Over the years, UDC Events and Mid-Town Records have worked together to organise a series of very successful editions of Nightmare in the Ahoy, as well as a number of legendary Nightmare Outdoor festivals.
Nightmare has built up a solid reputation to live up to.
This has in turn created its own problems during the negotiations for the next edition of Nightmare Outdoor. As the planned date grew near, the restrictions placed by the authorities, especially regarding the noise levels, grew stricter. They eventually became so strict that UDC and Mid-Town decided that it would be impossible to throw a party that would be worthy of the title Nightmare.
So unfortunately, there will be no Nightmare Outdoor this year.
But as always, every cloud has a silver lining. All of the artists, plans, decorations and surprises that had been prepared for Nightmare Outdoor will now be heading to Ahoy stadium. On December 6th, the largest edition of Nightmare will open its doors for a party that will not only earn the title of Nightmare, but will proudly carry the honour of being the fifteenth anniversary of Nightmare!
No fewer than five separate areas will be filled with the finest hardcore sounds you will ever hear. So do whatever needs to be done to ensure that you will be there on December 6th for the hardest party of the year: 15 Years Of Nightmare!
Tickets will cost €42,50 (ex. fee) and will be available online through www.15yearsofnightmare.com, www.udc.nl and TicketService (www.ticketservice.nl / 0900-3001250). You can also purchase tickets at all Mid-Town Records, Primera and larger GWK Travelex, VVV Tourist Centres, Post Offices and Free Record Shop locations.
Outside the Netherlands, tickets will be available via Ticketbank

Evil Activities - No place to hide
Evil Activities proves once again why he’s on top of his game and delivers two massive tracks and a remix by Endymion on Neophyte #38. The title-track consists of wicked vocals used for a spine-chilling break, followed by a superb melody and, ultimately, dancefloor mayhem when the kicks come in.. We expect this one to be at least as big as “nobody said…”!!!!
The first track on the B-side is “Evilution”, the title-track of the album that was released this May. No melodic sounds here but pure and raw hardcore with bone breaking kicks and distorted synths, a perfect way to show off his versatility as a producer. The 2nd track on the
b-side is the Endymion remix of “The way I am”. These Enzyme artists are responsible for a huge number of hits and collaborated with Evil Activities on their latest release. Now they’ve given the EA-hit their special treatment, and to put it simply: it’s a killer!!!!

The Beholder & Zany - Bleeding for the harder styles (The official Decibel anthem)
For this year’s anthem, The Beholder teamed up with Fusion frontman Zany, with whom he produced “Midnight” and “Euphoria” on Seismic Records before. Bundling forces again resulted in what may be the strongest anthem ever. “Bleeding for the harder styles” has all the ingredients that one would expect from an anthem: vocals that encourage singing along with them, a stunning melody with that typical “large hall” feel to it and a great kick to top it off! The anthem performed great on the festival itself, and will do so too in every other hardstyle set!
The b-side of this release features D-Block & S‑te-fan, the two rising stars in the hardstyle-scene of today, who were asked to do a fresh new 2008 remix of the “old” Decibel Anthem. Bringing their experience from their releases on Next Chapter and Scantraxx Evolutionz to the table, or better: their studio, these guys prove to be on the way to the top given the pumping remix they handed in. Combining the original vocals with a complete new melody and a cool build-up, this renewed anthem will surely be played on many of the Decibel Outdoor festivals to come. Essential stuff!!!!
